Emil Krasich first began his musical studies in piano with his late aunt, Liliana Petucka, who was a concert pianist and teacher. During his teenage years, he discovered classical guitar and studied his undergraduate guitar performance degree with John Schneiderman at the University of California, Irvine. He continued his post graduate guitar studies with Alexander Dunn at University of Victoria in British Columbia where he won first place in the Greater Victoria Guitar competition in 2000.

Originally a native of California, Emil moved to the New England area over 20 years ago to pursue a career in engineering. Now residing in Cumberland, Rhode Island, he began studying the Renaissance lute during the pandemic with renowned lutenist, Hideki Yamaya. Emil has had a lifetime love of Renaissance and baroque lute music and is eager to share his interpretations on a period replica instrument. He will also be studying baroque lute repertoire later this year.
