Featured Musicians of our December 16th, 2018 / 3pm Open Mic Classical will be pianist Jared McMurray from Cotuit

Jared McMurray began his music studies at the Cape Cod Conservatory in 1988 with pianist Noel Tipton. Following an education in piano performance and composition, Jared was invited to play at the first annual Franz Liszt festival in Rio de Janeiro by his teacher, Brazilian pianist Luiz de Moura Castro. Jared is a native of Cotuit and a member of Cotuit Center for the Arts' Board of Directors.

Elizabeth Hughes Tipton, a native of Wisconsin, holds graduate degrees in performance from the Juilliard School of Music with post graduate work at Columbia Teachers college in N.Y.C. After a thirty year career as performer teacher in Westfield, N.J. she moved to Cape Cod with her husband and is now on the faculty of The Cape Cod Conservatory of Music and Art in Falmouth. She has performed extensively as a soloist, in chamber music ensembles and as a collaborative pianist in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts.
