Ana Glig (Gligvashvili) is an award-winning Georgian-American concert pianist praised for her "ability to capture” hearts (by Musical America). In the review of her CD ‘Reminiscences,’ the Fanfare magazine recognized Glig’s touch as “ever sensitive”…and praised for her ability “to capture music as well as anyone on disc, whether in a post Debussian space or in filmic wit.” As an orchestra soloist, Glig has performed with Rishon LeZion and Mikeladze symphony orchestras in Israel and Georgian republic. Her concert appearances include the venues in the United States as well as Europe. Prize winner of the Tel-Hai International Piano Concerto Competition (Israel) and Georgian Musician-Performers Competition, Glig is also a recipient of the pianist Alfred Cortot prize for the best interpretation of romantic music at the Tbilisi International Piano Competition. Born in Telavi, Georgia, Ana's first musical impressions trace back to her family and her musician aunt, who exposed her to piano at the age of two. Since then she developed particular love for Georgian polyphonic singing and classical music. In 2018 Glig organized a benefit concert with her friends to support a humanitarian organization American Friends of Georgia (AFG), which took place in Sandwich Town Hall, Massachusetts. As a piano duo, Glig collaborates with her husband, pianist James Rosenblum for special occasions, including First Night Chatham. Along with her husband, Glig is also a founder of the A & G Piano Masterclasses and Competition in Eastern part of Georgian Republic (Ana’s motherland). Glig holds a Master’s degree in piano performance from Mannes School of Music -The New School, an Advanced Certificate in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from NYU Steinhardt (New York University) and a Bachelor’s degree from Tbilisi State Conservatory (Republic of Georgia). At NYU she also served as adjunct piano faculty. Glig studied with Eteri Andjaparidze, Victor Rosenbaum, Jerome Rose, Revaz Tavadze and Marine Gelashvili among others. After moving from New York City with her family, Glig currently resides in Harwich, where she continues to perform, teach and work.
